fpga-icestorm software package provides Tools to handle the bitstream format of Lattice iCE40 FPGAs, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fpga-icestorm
fpga-icestorm is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fpga-icestorm package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fpga-icestorm *
You will get with fpga-icestorm package name, version, architecture and description in a table
